To guarantee production capacity now and in the future, Fertira decided in 2024 to expand the existing factory with two additional press lines. This will double the capacity. At the same time, a significant expansion of storage capacity was also necessary: the silo block for raw materials has been considerably enlarged, and additional bulk storage has been created for the pellets and crumbs produced.
The main principles behind the design of the new factory were to limit product damage, minimize drag, and achieve high accuracy and homogeneity of the mixtures. In addition, maximum flexibility was essential so that Fertira could continue to supply customized solutions for customers in addition to standard formulas.
To realize this expansion, Fertira sought a machine builder with proven experience in this specialist segment and with the capacity to carry out large projects. That partner was found in Poeth in Tegelen. Recently, Poeth has realized various large-scale installations, both in the Benelux and internationally, and from the outset was able to contribute well-founded and practical solutions for the production process.
