Many powder conveying systems are based on speeds higher than 1 m/s.
In many cases, this means that additional Atex provisions must be made. This is not necessary with the Z and C-Conveyor. The conveyor runs at a speed smaller than 0.5 m/s and is certified for internal ATEX application.
Explosion safety assessed with scorecard “very good”
Poeth Solids Processing supplied the Z-Conveyor to Algiers as part of its complete turn-key project. In addition to the transport system, Poeth also supplied the silo building with a storage capacity of 5700 m³, the Sea Container Tilting Unit, inline weighers, cleaning systems, spark detection and the electronic control and cabling.
The externally designated ATEX certification body assessed the explosion safety in Algiers with a “scorecard 4 – very good”. Poeth will soon be building similar installations for the same brewer in Nigeria and Cambodia.
