Lödige Ploughshare® laboratory mixer type L 1 Lödige builds the smallest machine in its company history
Lödige Ploughshare® laboratory mixer type L 1
Lödige builds the smallest machine in its company history Lödige Process Technology has built the smallest machine in its company history in order to meet the highly specialised demands of the high-containment segment: The Ploughshare® laboratory mixer type L 1 now being supplied supplements the L series and has a drum volume of only one litre. What led to this new development was an enquiry by an existing customer: This company was looking for a process engineering solution for exceptionally challenging dry mixtures for its development lab. As powdered substances such as these can be highly sensitive, extremely expensive or perhaps even hazardous to health and the environment, the only suitable solution was a contained process in a gas-tight container, also referred to as “glovebox”. That means: the mixer can only be operated and serviced within a glass safety housing using integrated gloves. For this reason, the machine must be designed to meet special requirements - and the mini-mixer meets all of them in full: Thanks to

Kemp increases production yield at dry mortar factory Realization 2-compartment silo for production increase
Kemp increases production yield at dry mortar factory
Realization 2-compartment silo for production increase At Remix Droge Mortel BV - Hardenberg, a 12 meter high 2 compartment silo was placed last week. In order to increase the existing production yield, Kemp bv was commissioned to adjust the production process, by placing a silo directly above the bagging machine. In close collaboration with partner companies, a self-supported steel construction was realized, over the existing roof, on which the silo was placed. In combination with a 3 meter long stainless steel vibrating conveyor equipped with a VibraDrive® (Alvibra) and a bucket elevator (including cleaning bottom), the product is transported into the silo. In addition, the silo is also equipped with blow-in pipes. A sound-insulated instrumentation compartment has been realized on the top of the silo, which minimizes noise emission to the surroundings. Furthermore, 1 compartment is equipped with a anti-segregation construction which has previously proved its effectivity.

EMT is making a name for itself in Central America
EMT is making a name for itself in Central America
EMT is becoming increasingly famous worldwide. At the end of May, a huge fertilizer blending auger already went to Saudi Arabia, and the shipment for a customer in Mexico was started this week. That shipment concerns a blending machine and a transport conveyor line, good for a total of 25 sea containers, each measuring twelve meters in length. “This blend line will blend 18 different types of fertilizer in the right quality and quantity. Everything computer-controlled ”, says Gustaaf Zeeman on behalf of the family business. “With this machine line, the customer in Mexico can triple its annual production to a capacity of 300,000 tons per year. The machines are made in the technical workshop of EMT in `t Zand. A piece of industrial innovation that not only the village but also the Netherlands should be happy with. "We are very happy with this order that is in addition to the other orders," says Zeeman about his company that develops all machines in-house and draws

Poeth Z / C-Conveyor ideal for circular processes
Recycling industrie Poeth recently delivered various projects for Plastic Recycling. In many cases, a Z-Conveyor as well as C-Conveyor was chosen as between transport. The big advantage of this setup: - no unnecessary dust development (angel hair) - very low noise emission compared to air transport - very low energy consumption (approx. 1.75 kW, 8 tons / hour, 6 m height, 2 horizontal - less other costs for control / cabling. - virtually no product contamination - low investment costs - virtually no maintenance costs The machine is well suited for use in circular processes, and is also suitable for powdered products, even for very fine products such as Carbon Black, or very aqueous milk powders such as finely ground soy. In terms of Atex, no additional provisions are necessary, due to, among other things, a low speed of carbon black - food recycling (bread, potato chips, carrot granulate etc) - circuit boards recycling - metal powders from residual flows Two test setups are ready at

Gentle touch for insect eggs
Gentle touch for insect eggs
Did you know that our mixers can very gently mix brittle dried insects and even live matter, such as insect eggs? Our drum mixer with ‘gentle touch’ technology is located in the breeding grounds of a renowned insect breeder in Asia, and provides insect eggs with a nourishing shell. Once hatched, the little ones imagine themselves to be in the land of plenty, which stimulates them to transform faster. Billions of eggs When processing insect eggs, it’s more about volume and less about weight. Just one gram contains 40 - 50 thousand eggs. It’s a huge challenge to mix millions of eggs homogeneously with another solid, and to still keep them alive in the process. By applying our ‘gentle touch technology’, more than 97 percent of the eggs emerge from the mixing process undamaged. This is because our mixer works in batches for optimal mixing. Successful trials Extensive trials at the Lindor test centre show that the Gentle Touch drum mixer perfectly mixes a batch of insect

Solae removes metal contaminants from soya powder residue with a magnet Remove very small stainless steel and iron particles
Solae removes metal contaminants from soya powder residue with a magnet
Remove very small stainless steel and iron particles Solae Belgium N.V., a Dupont company, recently introduced a new type of magnetic separator in their powder line; the Easy cleanflow magnet from Goudsmit Magnetics of Waalre (NL). This magnet checks soya powder for metal contaminants, such as stainless steel wear particles. The metal particles get into the product as a result of friction at the dryer drum and are absolutely undesirable. No operator needed Solea`s design requirements for the magnetic separator were that no operator would be required and that cleaning of the unit could be performed safely and efficiently. The unit also had to be dust-tight, food-proof and fitted with food-safe EC1935 seals. The magnetic separator placed under the vibrating sieve meets all the requirements and removes minuscule metal particles and weakly magnetic stainless steel particles as small as 30 µm from powders. How the magnet works. Stainless steel particles Solae is a food producer and, among other things, they process a residue
